Elon Musk donated about $75 million to America PAC, the campaign support committee for former President Donald Trump (Republican), according to federal data released on Tuesday (Oct. 15, 2024). The amount was disbursed over 3 months.
With this contribution, the founder of SpaceX and Tesla becomes one of the Republican candidate’s main donors in the upcoming November 5 White House election. Information from Reuters.
In June, Musk established America PAC. Convincing voters to register to vote is its main goal, especially in “swing states”—states where there isn’t a front-runner who is widely favored and has the potential to win the election. Musk, a former supporter of the Democratic Party, publicly endorsed Trump in July after the shooting of the former president.
Musk also announced that he will tour the state of Pennsylvania with speeches to convince voters to vote for the Republican.
Earlier, according to BBC information, Donald Trump’s presidential campaign received $50 million from the conservative billionaire Timothy Mellon. Billionaires Liz and Dick Uihlein also donated $10 million to Trump’s presidential campaign.
