Lionel Messi, the world champion from Argentina, announced on Thursday, September 19, 2024, the launch of his content production company, 525 Rosario. The production company aims to develop content for TV, cinema, and sporting events.
This project is being worked on in association with Smuggler Entertainment, best known for producing the Apple TV+ series “Messi’s World Cup: The Rise of a Legend.” Messi’s career and his arrival in the US in 2023 will be the subject of joint content production by Smuggler.
Messi has been a player for Inter Miami CF, a US soccer team, since 2023. Tim Pastore, the co-founder and CEO of Smuggler Entertainment, will oversee the company’s two headquarters, one in Los Angeles (CA), where Messi resides with his family, and one in Miami, according to information from Voriety magazine. WMA (William Morris Agency) will represent the company.

The Messi family’s address in Rosario, Argentina, is connected to the name of the production company. To Variety, the athlete said that “entertainment has always been a passion” and that he is “really motivated by the opportunity to pursue the project.”
525 Rosario’s content production will focus on narratives that promote cultural diversity, especially for the Latino and Hispanic community, but aim to reach a global audience.
According to the company’s announcement, the new entertainment company “embodies the attributes of innovation and teamwork associated with Leo Messi, while championing diverse perspectives for the Latino and Hispanic community and its broader global audience.”
In a statement, the Leo Messi family said that “the goal remains to inspire and connect with people around the world in a completely new way.”
“Highlighting and building on everything Leo Messi stands for, not only through massive premium content on a global scale but also through community outreach and family-focused initiatives,” according to Smuggler Entertainment CEO Tim Pastore, is the aim of 525 Rosario, he said.
