On June 25, Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly called on Canadians to leave Lebanon immediately “while it is still possible.”
“The security situation in Lebanon is becoming increasingly unstable and unpredictable due to the ongoing escalation between Hezbollah and Israel and could deteriorate further without warning,” she said in a statement.

“My message to Canadians has been clear since the beginning of the crisis in the Middle East: now is not the time to go to Lebanon. And for Canadians currently in Lebanon, it’s time to leave while commercial flights remain accessible,” Joly added.
Joly emphasized that the Canadian government is not currently providing assistance when leaving Lebanon and does not guarantee that evacuations will occur at all in the future.
