The Boston Celtics beat the Indiana Pacers 102-105 this Monday and earned their first ticket to the NBA finals. The Celtics, led by their star forward Jayson Tatum, completed a sweep of their rivals and closed the series with a resounding 4-0, which allowed them to reach the final with a good recovery time and seek to win a new championship.
In the league finals, which start on June 6, the Celtics will try to win their eighteenth NBA title by facing the winner of the Western Conference finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Minnesota Timberwolves, whom the Texans lead 3-0.
While in the Pacers stadium, the stars of Boston shone. Jaylen Brown scored 29 points and was chosen MVP of the Eastern Finals, while Jayson Tatum added 26 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists to beat a very weakened Pacers after the loss of their star Tyrese Haliburton, who had already missed the third match of the series.

The key to the Boston Celtics’ victory was a fierce defense led by an impressive Derrick White, who had five steals and three blocks in addition to 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists. Jrue Holiday finished with 17 points, nine rebounds, and two assists.
Dominican Al Horford, once again a starter in Joe Mazzulla’s quintet, contributed seven points, eight rebounds, and five assists. He has played 181 playoff games in his career and will go for the title after falling just short of glory in 2022.
