The 76th Emmy Awards ceremony took place in Los Angeles. The leader in the number of awards was the TV “Shogun series” which won 18 categories, the Associated Press reports.
In particular, the show was awarded as the best drama series. Hiroyuki Sanada and Anna Sawai won the awards for best actor and actress in a drama series. They became the first actors from Japan to win an Emmy.
Prior to that, “Shogun” won 14 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, which means that the first season of the series received a total of 18 Emmy Awards, which is a record.
The best comedy series was named “Tricks,” and the title of the best actress in a comedy series was won by Jean Smart, who played the main role in it.
Jeremy Allen White, who starred in Bear, won the best actor in a comedy series award. Ebon Moss-Bacrack and Lisa Colon-Zayas, who also starred in the show, won awards for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In total, “Bear” won 11 awards.

The title of the best miniseries was awarded to “Olenya.” Show creator and actor Richard Gadd won for Best Actor in a Miniseries and Writing, and Jessica Gunning won for Best Supporting Actress in a Miniseries.
The award for the best female role in a miniseries was won by Jodie Foster, who starred in the fourth season of “True Detective.” This is the first Emmy award for the two-time Oscar winner.
