The United States on Friday announced the deployment of additional troops and weapons to the Middle East. Military weapons include ballistic missiles and long-range B-52 bombers. The purpose of deploying these weapons is to alert Iran. News from The Hill
Pentagon spokesman Major General Patrick Ryder said in a statement that the United States will take all necessary steps to protect its own people if Iran, its allies, or any other country targets US forces or territory.
This additional military deployment in the Middle East is based on previous US defense systems. Last month, the United States provided Israel with destructive THAAD (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense) missiles. Ryder also said that new forces will begin arriving in the coming months.
Israel attacked Iran on October 26. This year, in April and October, Iran launched two significant attacks against Israel. It has been warned by observers that tensions between Israel and Iran could escalate and that war may become more likely.
