Yesterday Monday (Nov. 18, 2024), two people were killed and one was injured in a stabbing in Manhattan, New York City, USA. The stabbings happened in three separate locations in Manhattan on Monday. A 51-year-old suspect has been arrested in connection with the knife attack, according to New York police. BBC reported.
According to the local authorities, the two stabbing victims were rescued and taken to the local hospital, where doctors pronounced them dead. The third person injured in the stabbing is a woman. He was struck near the United Nations headquarters in New York. The seriously injured woman is under treatment at the hospital.
New York Mayor Eric Adams told reporters, “The attacker is a homeless man. He had a recent criminal conviction.”
It was not immediately clear what motivated the attack. At first, it is thought that the cause in the case committed the attack “unprovoked.” The names of the injured have not been released. However, the victim of the first attack was 26 years old. He is a construction worker.
The second stabbing victim was 68 years old. While fishing in the East River, he was hit. He also passed away.
About two hours after the second incident, a 36-year-old woman was stabbed near the UN headquarters. A taxi driver saw the incident and informed the police. The police then arrested the suspected accused.
