Milestone for Waymo: In San Francisco, the Google subsidiary’s robotaxis are now available to anyone interested without a waiting list or invitation code. The company emphasized on Tuesday that they had been working towards this day for years with a gradual offer.
Particularly on the streets of San Francisco, the white Jaguar I-Pace Waymo cars with cameras and laser radars are now part of the cityscape.
Waymo robotaxis are operating in Phoenix, Arizona; San Francisco; and Los Angeles, California. You can now drive completely without anyone behind the wheel.

Waymo emerged from Google’s robot car program and is now particularly advanced in developing technology for self-driving cars. The company’s robots now make more than 50,000 trips per week.
At the same time, Waymo recently came to the attention of the US authorities after a number of incidents. This includes a situation in which the driverless car moved into the oncoming lane to overtake a group of e-scooter riders. The maneuver went off lightly. Waymo emphasizes that the software is safe and controls the cars carefully.
