Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane crashes, killing 42 people

An Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane en route from Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, to Grozny, Russia, crashed near the airport in Aktau, Kazakhstan. Kazakhstan’s emergency ministry reported that 42 people were killed in a passenger plane crash.

According to Azerbaijan Airlines, the Embraer 190 (flight number J2-8243) was forced to make an emergency landing in Aktau, Kazakhstan. However, the plane had a total of 67 passengers. There were five crew members inside. 25 people survived and 42 died in the plane crash.

Kazakhstan’s emergency ministry confirmed the plane was diverted from Grozny to Aktau due to heavy fog before the crash. The Azerbaijan plane was circling Aktau airport before the crash. Then this accident happened.

News agency PTI reported that more than 50 rescuers are at the accident site and are carrying out their work.
