Now talking about equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened with good gains.
STOCK MARKET OPENING BELL: The domestic markets opened strong today amid signs of stronger global markets. The market is getting good support from stocks in every segment except IT stocks. The overall market is showing good growth and the market cap of companies listed on BSE has increased by Rs 2.78 lakh crore, which means investor wealth has increased by Rs 2.78 lakh crore. Now talking about equity benchmark indices, BSE Sensex and Nifty 50 opened with good gains.
Sensex is currently at 72528.93 and Nifty at 22043.80. A trading day earlier, the Sensex closed up 454.67 points or 0.63 percent at 72186.09 and the Nifty closed up 157.70 points or 0.72 percent at 21929.40.
Investors earned Rs 2.78 lakh crore
The total market cap of all stocks listed on BSE a day earlier i.e. on 6 February 2024 was Rs 386.83 lakh crore. Today i.e. on 7 February 2024, as the market opened, it rose to Rs 389.61 lakh crore. This means that investors’ capital has increased by around Rs 2.78 lakh crore.
22 shares of Sensex are in green zone
There are 30 stocks listed on the Sensex, out of which 22 stocks are showing an upward trend today. Among them Axis Bank, SBI and Asian Paints saw the highest growth.
