All American Airlines service across the country was grounded after a brief outage during what is currently the busiest Christmas period. And on Tuesday (Dec. 24), boarding flights began around 8 a.m. (Eastern Time), and shortly thereafter flights resumed across the country.

American Airlines said “vendor technology issues” were responsible for the service suspension. Moreover, the largest independent pilots’ union in the world, the Allied Pilots Association (APA), said, “The airline’s flight operations system briefly went down for the morning on Tuesday (December 27), resulting in delays.”

According to aviation analytics company Cirium, the airline was scheduled to have more than 3,300 domestic flights across the country. But the airline later resumed operations without canceling most flights.

However, the American federal agency (Federal Aviation Administration) issued a nationwide groundstop order due to the outage and later withdrew the order.

According to American multinational technology company FlightAware, more than 1,000 flights in and out of the United States were delayed and 26 flights were canceled across the United States due to technical issues.
