Jeff Baena, 47, American film director and husband of Aubrey Plaza, was found dead at a home in Los Angeles on Friday (3 Jan 2025) morning. His death is currently under investigation. AP Reported.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office reported that they found Baena dead at a home in Los Angeles early on Friday, Jan 3. The office also said the incident is under investigation and a full report will not be available until the case is closed.
American screenwriter and film director Jeff Baena married American actress and comedian Aubrey Plaza on May 7, 2021. Baena, 47, wrote and directed Life After Beth (Horror and Comedy), Joshy (Comedy and Drama), The Little Hours (Comedy and Drama), Horse Girl (Thriller and Comedy), and Spin Me Round (Comedy and Romance) and co-wrote I Heart Huckabees (Comedy and Indie film).
According to People, Baena grew up in Miami early in life, later attended film school at New York University, and moved to Los Angeles soon after graduation to begin her career in entertainment.
Baena began dating Plaza in 2011. They kept their relationship a secret for many years, never announcing their divorce. Plaza starred in four of his five films.
According to the AP, Baena’s family includes mother Barbara Stern, stepfather Roger Stern, stepmother Michele Baena, father Scott Baena, brother Brad Baena, and stepsiblings Bianca Gabay and Jed Fluxman.
