Artificial intelligence (AI) is present in almost every field today. And so there is a lot of discussion about the impact of artificial intelligence on all the socio-economic fields, starting with jobs. The World Economic Forum and Accenture have highlighted the impact of artificial intelligence in a report titled ‘Jobs of Tomorrow’. “Generative AI is changing the way we work,” said Kathleen O’Reilly, Accenture’s director of communications, media, and technology.
AI-based technology is impacting us through large language models, machine learning, and natural language processing. Artificial intelligence technology is able to perform complex tasks, including content creation, information retrieval, and human-like language translation. This technology will change the future of work. The report analyzed the opinions and work patterns of 19,000 people in 867 occupations.
Affected professions
According to the report, 73 percent of jobs in the tech sector are being drastically changed by AI. While AI has yet to make an impact on 26 percent of jobs, it has created the opportunity to automate 70 percent of the work in the finance or financial sector. And just 21% of the work has not yet begun to have an effect. The percentage of automated retail and administrative tasks is 67 and 65 percent, respectively. AI has led to the automation of 57% and 56% of marketing and HR tasks, respectively.AI is replacing 46% and 43% of the legal and supply chain industries’ respective workforces.
Saadia Zahidi, Managing Director of the World Economic Forum, said, “Generative AI is changing the industry and business world. Calling for new possibilities through new models and product services. AI can be called new tools to boost creativity and productivity.’
Professions in which AI is working
According to the report, the jobs of professionals such as credit auditors and management analysts are being changed the most by AI. About 81 and 70 percent of these two professions can be done by AI.
New career opportunities
The World Economic Forum is talking about the possibility of some new professions due to AI. New professions such as AI model and prompt engineers, interface and interaction designers, data curators and trainers, and ethics and governance specialists have already been introduced.
