On Wednesday (February 18), Atlanta United FC signed free agent forward Sergio Santos for the 2026 Major League Soccer (MLS) season, a move that is expected to boost the club.
Santos previously played for three MLS clubs: Philadelphia Union, FC Cincinnati, and Houston Dynamo FC. According to Field Level Media, he has 28 goals and 13 assists in 156 MLS regular-season games with the three teams since 2019.
The 31-year-old Brazilian veteran is contracted through the 2026 MLS season and has an option until December 2027.
“Sergio has been a productive forward in our league for the past seven seasons and will add competition to our group of attackers,” chief soccer officer and sporting director Chris Henderson said. “He’s going to bring MLS experience, quality and a winning mindset to our team, and we look forward to welcoming him to the club.”

Meanwhile, the club announced on Tuesday that veteran free agent winger Fafa Picault has signed a contract for the 2026 MLS season, with an option until June 2027.
Atlanta United will open the 2026 MLS regular season against FC Cincinnati at TQL Stadium on Saturday.
