Explaining why Messi is ahead of Ronaldo, former Real Madrid coach Capello said, ‘Ronaldo is an extraordinary player. He’s won titles, including the including the Ballon d’Or, but as I’ve said before, he’s not as great as Messi. If you tell me about Cristiano Ronaldo or Messi, I will put Messi ahead.’
Commenting that Ronaldo is not a ‘genius’ like Messi, Capello added, ‘Ronaldo is a great scorer. Everything is great, including his shots. He knows how to do everything. But he is not talented. The matter is very simple.
Messi and Ronaldo are now having their best time. Both are playing outside of Europe. Messi plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) club Inter Miami, and Ronaldo represents Saudi Arabian club Al Nassr. Although the two are from two different worlds, they are still as relevant in the world of football as ever. Constantly, there is an argument and battle of words about their superiority.
