So far this year, at least 36 startups have emerged in the tech sector, from robotics company Dexterity to former OpenAI executive Mira Murati’s Thinking Machines, which is sparking a wave of new unicorns worldwide. But it’s notable that AI-centric companies are raising the most funding.
The United States holds the top spot, with the most unicorns (793), followed by China (284), India (88), and the United Kingdom (64).
SpaceX in the US (valued at $350 billion), ByteDance in China (valued at $300-315 billion), and Reliance Retail in India (valued at $100 billion) are known as some of the largest unicorns in the world.

Thinking Machines has recently caught the eye among unicorns in America, with a staggering valuation of $10 billion. According to Visual Capitalist, the artificial intelligence company launched just six months ago, with investors including Nvidia and a16z.

ByteDance, the parent company of China’s TikTok, has been ranked as the third most valuable unicorn globally. Meanwhile, Ant Group is in fourth place due to its dominance in digital payments.
India, the world’s fastest-growing major economy, is the third-largest hub with 88 unicorns. The country’s Reliance Retail is among the top five unicorns—a retail unit of the Reliance Industries conglomerate.
