Two separate Israeli airstrikes in Gaza killed three Palestinians on Saturday (March 24), local health officials and doctors said, Reuters reported. The strikes came despite a US-brokered ceasefire that has lasted more than five months.

According to Palestinian health officials, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) airstrikes killed one person in the Khan Younis area of southern Gaza and two adult brothers in the Shujiaya neighborhood east of the city.

The IDF has killed more than 680 Palestinians in Gaza since Israel’s ceasefire with Hamas took effect in November, Reuters reported, citing local health officials.

On February 28, Israel and the United States launched a joint strike against Iran that later escalated into a full-scale war. Meanwhile, Israel is waging a new campaign against the terrorist organization Hezbollah, and Israeli forces have entered southern Lebanon through air and ground operations.

According to Gaza health officials, at least 40 Palestinians have been killed by IDF forces since the start of the Iran conflict. Violence in Gaza continues despite the ceasefire, but more than 72,000 people have been killed in the territory since the war began in October 2023.
