Scientists have discovered an exoplanet with so many volcanoes that it glows red. Nothing similar has ever been observed, according to the researchers, and further observations are necessary before a new world can be formally declared to exist. according to Live Science.
The planet received the designation TOI-6713.01. It is located in a planetary system and is the closest to its star of the three celestial bodies. Three planets revolve around an orange dwarf at a distance of 66 light years from us. The rocky planet is slightly larger than Earth and orbits the five-billion-year-old star every 2.2 days.

Observations of the TESS telescope showed that the planet is covered with lava from hundreds of volcanoes that erupt on its surface. Its surface temperature exceeds 2300 degrees Celsius.
According to astronomers, neighboring planets gradually changed the orbit of TOI-6713.01; it became oval instead of round. The gravity of the two nearby planets and their central star pull and push TOI-6713.01 continuously, resulting in what astronomers refer to as a “perfect tidal storm.” As a result of a constant friction on the planet, heat is produced and frequently released by volcanic eruptions.
Astronomers found a potentially inhabited planet earlier this year that resembles Earth.
