Although India’s smartphone penetration rate lags behind China’s, it is estimated that India will have a smartphone penetration rate of 7.4% of all mobile devices by 2025.

This difference shows that many people in India still use basic feature phones, most of which are located in rural areas. The percentage of smartphone users in India could increase in the future if affordable smartphones and better internet access become available.
