Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior has been named the Best FIFA Men’s Player award 2024 this Tuesday (17 Dec. 2024). Rodri, a Manchester City star and Ballon d’Or winner, came in second. Although Rodri won the Ballon d’Or, Junior won the Best FIFA Men’s Player award this time.
FIFA also revealed the top 11 players for 2024 at the event in Doha, Qatar. According to Transfermarkt, the Brazilian forward and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland are at the top of the list of players with the highest market values. Haaland’s market value is €200 million, and Junior’s is €200 million.
The Best FIFA Men’s Player Award has been won by different players, such as Ronaldo, Messi, and Ronaldinho Gaucho. Robert Lewandowski, Luka Modrić, Kaka, Virgil van Dijk, and Vinicius Junior complete the list.
Facts about the Best FIFA Award
The Best FIFA Awards will select the winners between August 21, 2023, and August 10, 2024. Media representatives, national team coaches, captains, and supporters all cast votes.
Following the split between FIFA and France Football magazine, the award was established and has been given out every year since 2016. The FIFA Ballon d’Or was the name of the unified prize for the world’s best player from 2010 to 2015.
