In a lawsuit filed on Monday (February 10), a US woman accused internet personality Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate of conspiring to force her into sex work, lure her to Romania and defame her after she testified to Romanian authorities. Reuters reported.

However, the civil complaint in Florida was previously reported by The New York Times, which said it marked the first lawsuit against the Tate brothers to be filed in the United States.
According to Reuters, the Tate brothers are fighting civil and criminal cases in Romania and Britain. The charges against them include forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, trafficking of minors, sex with minors, and money laundering, and they have denied wrongdoing.
The name of the woman filed in the court is Jane Doe; she is a resident of the United States. But the Tate brothers had earlier sued him for defamation in 2023. The case filed by the woman on Monday alleged that the brothers tried to rape and harass her through defamation cases.
According to The New York Times, Doe is 23, and his parents have been granted anonymity by the court due to safety concerns.
Joseph D. McBride, a lawyer representing the Tate brothers, was quoted by the Times as saying there was no evidence his clients were involved in human trafficking and that the facts were on their side.
It should be noted that last month, a Romanian court revoked a house arrest order against Andrew Tate, replacing it with a lighter preventive measure pending the outcome of a criminal investigation. And Andrew has been under house arrest since August, when prosecutors opened a second criminal investigation against him, his brother Tristan, 36, and four other suspects.
According to Reuters, a first criminal case failed in December when the Bucharest Court of Appeal (in Romania) ruled against Andrew Tate and sent the case back to prosecutors.
The Tate brothers are former kickboxers with dual US and British citizenship, internet personalities, and the highest-profile suspects facing trial for human trafficking in Romania.
