Renewable energy has taken California to a new historic destination. According to Newsweek, renewable energy has provided 100 percent of California’s energy needs between 15 minutes and 6 hours in the past 36 days. For Golden State, reaching this milestone is a historic first.
Across this American state, wind, solar, and hydropower are tow exceeding demand, producing more natural energy than Californians need on a daily basis.
California has seen great success with its renewable energy supply in the past, but this is the first time that wind, solar and hydropower have consistently outperformed for several weeks.
This information was published by Stanford University professor Mark Z. Jacobson. He posted information on renewable energy use in X. And he said, ‘California has exceeded demand for 30 of the las138 days.’
This energy expert professor (x) also said that with the improvement of technology, this success will increase every year.
For instance, data for Friday, April 12, reveals that the average daily demand for solar, wind, geothermal, and hydropower is two-thirds of the total supply and exceeds six hours. The Jacobson data from last week showed that solar accounted for more than 80% of the renewable energy produced.
The professor also forecast that, given its recent successes, California will be dependent on solar, wind, and water power by 2035. Ten years later, in 2045, the state intends to run entirely on renewable energy.

There is no historical precedent for this. Yes, on a few exceptionally sunny days beginning in 2022, California did indeed briefly surpass this milestone before. But, according to Magruder, never so consistently over a two-week period.
