Al-Hilal beat Premier League giants Manchester City to create history. Man City conceded four goals for the first time in the Club World Cup. City had never lost a match in the Club World Cup by conceding four goals.
Brazilian Marcos Leonardo, who scored 2 goals; Malcom, who scored 1 goal; Kalidou Koulibaly, who scored 1 goal; and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, who made many saves, played a key role in the victory for Al-Hilal.
Man City are out of the Club World Cup, but Bernardo Silva, Erling Haaland, and Phil Foden scored a goal each against Al-Hilal.
Al-Hilal invested around โฌ104 million in some key players ahead of the Club World Cup in the 2024-25 season, which is one of the reasons for their success.
Man City coach Pep Guardiola said after their defeat that Al-Hilal showed their worth in the Club World Cup.
