Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has been left out of Portugal’s squad for friendlies against Mexico and the United States this month. Al-Nassr forward Ronaldo suffered a hamstring injury against Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League earlier this month and has missed the club’s last two matches as he has traveled to Spain for rehabilitation.
Fans believe this year’s World Cup will be CR7’s last major tournament. Portugal has announced a 27-man squad for the North American tour, but key players Ruben Dias and Bernardo Silva and Joao Palhinha have been left out.
Meanwhile, the squad announced by Portugal coach Roberto Martinez includes Goncalo Guedes, who has received his first call-up to the national team since 2022.
On their North American tour, Portugal will face Mexico at Azteca Stadium on March 28 and the United States at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on March 31.
FIFA has announced that the World Cup will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19, with 48 teams participating for the first time and a total of 104 matches to be played.
