Inter Miami defeated Philadelphia Union 2-1 in MLS on Saturday night, March 29, at Chase Stadium in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to move to the top of the Eastern Conference points table with 13 points.

Miami has maintained a 15-match unbeaten streak under new coach Javier Mascherano, a former Liverpool, Barcelona, and Argentina defender.

In the 23rd minute of the first half, Robert Taylor scored for Miami, assisted by 20-year-old Benjamin Cremaschi, giving the team a 1-0 lead. Miami maintained their lead over Philadelphia at the end of the first half.

Messi scored his second goal of the season in the 55th minute, just two minutes after coming on as a substitute in the second half, and Miami held on to a 2–0 lead. Messi’s goal was assisted by teammate Luis Suárez.
