iPhone data security is generally stronger than phones running on the Android operating system. Apple updates the security system in practically every iOS version to handle this. This time, even if the iPhone is stolen or lost, Apple has updated the software of the iOS 18 operating system to keep the user’s information safe. In this new update, in addition to adding the inactivity reboot facility, the stolen device protection facility has been improved, the company said.
If the iPhone hasn’t been unlocked for up to three days, a new security feature called Inactivity Reboot will automatically restart it. As a result, all apps running on the iPhone will be automatically closed, and all important information will also be locked. And so even if the iPhone is lost or stolen, no one can know the user’s information.
If Apple’s Stolen Device Protection feature is turned on, even if the passcode is known after the iPhone is stolen, the user’s Apple ID cannot be changed without Face ID and fingerprints. Not only that, no one can turn off the ‘Find My iPhone’ security feature or change the passcode of a stolen iPhone.
As a result, the iPhone owner can quickly locate the stolen iPhone and temporarily disable their various accounts. In the new update, users will automatically see the Stolen Device Protection feature in settings as well as during setup. As a result, the feature can be easily activated during iPhone setup.
