One of the most talked about movies of last year was ‘Oppenheimer’. Cillian Murphy has won praise for his film about the father of the atomic bomb, Robert Oppenheimer. Before the Oscars, he also played at other awards this year. Finally won the Oscar.

Robert Downey Jr.’s performance in the same film earned him the Best Supporting Actor trophy.

Cord Jefferson won the Best Adapted Screenplay award for last year’s ‘American Fiction’, another popular movie. Apart from this, the award for best original screenplay was won by Justin Triet and Arthur Harari (‘Anatomy of a Fall’).
Hoyte van Hoytema (‘Oppenheimer’) won the award for best cinematographer. Billie Eilish and Phineas O’Connell won Best Original Song for Barbie’s ‘What Was I Made For?’, predictably.
Many documentaries were discussed last year. However, it is thought that ‘Twenty Days in Mariupol’ ultimately won the prize. Mystoslav Chernov made the documentary about Russia’s attack on Ukraine. It previously won an award in the Documentary category at the Sundance Festival after its premiere last year.
According to the New York-based non-profit organization National Board of Review, ‘The Zone of Interest’ is one of the best movies of last year. The film is produced by Jonathan Glazer in a joint production of UK and Poland. It took home the Oscar for Best International Film.
