A group of people is running with trays of pastries, coffee, and a glass of water on the streets of Paris, the capital of France. But none of their water or coffee spills on the street. They are not bringing this food in a hurry to a customer’s table. It was actually a restaurant staff race.
Parisians saw this 110-year-old competition again last Sunday. The competition is back in the heart of Paris after an almost 13-year break. This arrangement is mainly in front of the Olympic competition.
In 1914, the first restaurant worker competition took place. This time, the employees of the restaurant donned their costumes and competed in a race that lasted two kilometers (one hundred miles) and required them to carry a tray of pastries, an empty coffee cup, and a glass of water. City Hall marks the end of the run.
