Maria Branyas Morera is the oldest person alive in the world. This Spanish woman celebrated her 117th birthday last Monday.
Maria was born in San Francisco, California, on March 4, 1907. However, at the age of eight, he moved to Spain with his family and began living in Catalonia. He currently resides at the Residencia Santa Marรญa del Tura Nursing Home. He has been here for almost 23 years.
In January 2023, Guinness World Records (GWR) recognized Marรญa Branias Moreira as the world’s oldest living person. Before him was the French woman Lucille Randon. He passed away at 118 years old.
Maria’s nursing home director Eva Carrera Boykes told Guinness World Records, Maria is grateful to receive everyone’s congratulations and best wishes. He is happy that so many people are inquiring about his health.
Boykes also said, Maria is fine. He is very happy to celebrate the special day with his family and colleagues. He wished everyone a ‘Happy Monday’.
Maria still lives a very active life in her nursing home. He uses social media X (formerly Twitter) with the help of his 80-year-old daughter.
Last Monday, Maria X wrote, ‘Good morning, world. Today I turned 117 years old. I have come a long way.’
Mariah is currently the 12th oldest person in the world since tracking began. If he can celebrate his 118th birthday, he will come up to number 5 in this list.
