Tottenham beat Liverpool 1-0 in the EFL Cup semi-final first leg, taking the lead. Liverpool were unbeaten in 24 consecutive matches. Newcastle, on the other hand, beat Arsenal 2-0 in Leg 1 of the EFL Cup semi-final, which will put them in the lead going into the second leg.
In the 6th minute of the first half, Tottenham midfielder Bentancur landed awkwardly while attempting a header from a corner. After receiving treatment during the 10-minute delay, Bentancur was carried off the field on a stretcher.
Both teams tried in the first half but failed to score. However, Liverpool advanced in attack from Tottenham. Liverpool has been in excellent form this season, though, leading both the Premier League points table and the Champions League points table.
Liverpool attacked in the second half, but Tottenham goalkeeper Antonín Kinski made many saves. In the 86th minute of the match, Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall scored a goal to give the team the lead. And at the end of the match, Tottenham won by one goal to zero.
Liverpool lost this match after being unbeaten in 24 matches. Mohamed Salah, Luis Díaz, and other players have been in excellent form for the team this season.
Barcelona beat Athletic Club 2-0
In the semi-finals of the Supercopa de España, FC Barcelona defeated Athletic Club 2-0 to reach the final. The second semi-final is between Real Madrid and Mallorca, so Madrid could face Barcelona in the final if they win.
Gavi scored a goal in the 17th minute for Barcelona in the semifinals. He also has an assist. And in the second half of the game, 17-year-old Lamine Yamal scored the second goal in the 52nd minute.
