Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said that they believe that the United States will not leave them.
‘Ukraine’ organized on the two-year anniversary of the Russia-Ukraine war. He expressed this hope in a conference organized under the title ‘Year 2024’.
The US Senate recently approved a $9.5 billion foreign aid package. Six billion dollars of this are designated for use in Ukraine. The House of Representatives, the lower house of Congress, is currently up against this foreign aid bill.
“It is our firm belief that the United States will not back down in providing financial, military and armed support to Ukraine,” Danis said.
It should be noted that Ukraine is heavily dependent on the supply of military equipment from the United States and other Western allies to continue its fight against Russia.
Meanwhile, the country’s Defense Minister Same Rustem Umerov said that half of the Western military aid given to Ukraine has arrived after the promised time. This delay hampered Kiev’s ability to defend itself against Russian aggression and cost Ukrainian citizens their lives.
Rustem said that weapons are not being delivered as promised at the moment. 50 percent of what was promised was not delivered on time.
At the same time, Europe has also admitted that the plan to deliver more than 1 million artillery shells to Ukraine by March will be much lower in reality. They hope to be able to pay the entire invoice by the end of the year.
Rustem said such delays change Ukraine’s calculus in its war against Russia.
Taking into account Russia’s vast military capabilities in the air, the defense minister said, the longer aid is delayed, the more casualties Ukraine will lose and the more territory it will lose. “We do what we can and what we can’t, but if we don’t get the supplies (weapons) on time, we suffer,” he said in his own words.

On February 24, 2022, Russia launched an operation in Ukraine. Although the aim was to quickly take control of the country, the Russian forces initially faced massive resistance from the Ukrainians. But gradually they strengthen their position. Currently, one-fifth of the territory of Ukraine is occupied by Russian forces. Recently, Russian troops captured the important city of Avdivka in the eastern part of the country.
Ukraine’s forces are facing many problems, including the pull of foreign aid, shortage of weapons and Russian advances. In the meantime, they are being attacked regularly. As the third year of the last war began, it was reported that Russia launched missile and drone attacks in various regions of the country, including Odesa, Dnipro, overnight. Numerous people were hurt, and one person died.
