In second place, Singapore’s economy is consistently ranked as the most open in the world, representing Asia. The country also offers an advanced education system and a vibrant urban environment, suitable for living and working.
The United States, ranked third in countries to live and work in 2025, offers the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, which provides a common pathway for people from other countries to become permanent residents.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump recently proposed a “gold card” visa to attract wealthy investors, which would offer a range of benefits, including U.S. residency, employment rights, and citizenship opportunities, in exchange for a $5 million investment.
Australia ranked fourth for living and working, with the country’s recently introduced National Innovation Visa, a permanent visa for exceptionally talented immigrants from around the world.
Next, one of the top destinations for immigrants, Canada ranks fifth. According to Visual Capitalist, the country is currently reviewing its immigration policies amid concerns about the affordability crisis in cities like Vancouver and Toronto.

In 2025, the UK, a member of the European Union, took sixth place with the Innovator Founder Visa, which allows individuals to set up a scalable business in the country. In seventh place is the United Arab Emirates, the country that offers the Golden Residence Visa, which requires a minimum investment of $550,000.
