De Bruyne, who has won 16 trophies so far, announced on April 4 that he would leave Manchester City at the end of the Premier League season. Known for his beautiful football, De Bruyne, 33, has been with the defending four-time Premier League champions Man City since 2015.
One of the best midfielders, De Bruyne has six Premier League titles and the 2023 UEFA Champions League, which was part of Man City’s historic Treble (a club team winning three trophies in one season).
If De Bruyne is willing to play in Major League Soccer, Messi’s Inter Miami will have the first opportunity to begin negotiations with him.
De Bruyne was linked with a move to MLS expansion team San Diego FC last summer, but the team expressed financial concerns over the star midfielder.
After Messi arrived in July 2023 and was followed by old teammates Luis Suarez, Sergio Busquets, and Jordi Alba joining Inter Miami, the club has reached new heights.
