MOTOGP: MIGUEL OLIVEIRA

Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (Aprilia) was ranked 15th in the timed training sessions of the French MotoGP Grand Prix, the fifth race of the speed motorcycling World Championship. The driver from Almada finished the session 0.831 seconds behind the fastest, Spaniard Jorge Martin (Ducati), who broke the Le Mans circuit record with a time of 1,30,388 minutes.

Second place was the Italian Francesco Bagnaia (Ducati), a two-time title champion, 0.145 seconds behind Martin, with the Spaniard Pedro Acosta (CasGas) in third, at 0.787. So, Miguel Oliveira will have to participate in the Saturday qualifying phase (Q1) in order to attempt to secure one of the two spots that grant entry to Q2. The top ten fastest were chosen from the afternoon training sessions for this second phase. Jorge Martin was already the fastest in the morning free practice session, while Miguel Olivera was also the 15th fastest.

Between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, who did Capello put forward?

During the timed training sessions, there were a few crashes, including the seventh of the season for Marc Márquez (Ducati), who will also need to clear Q1, and Francesco Bagnaia with one minute remaining before the checkered flag. The French MotoGP is the fifth round of the season.

With 92 points, 17 more than Bagnaia, Jorge Martin leads the championship. Miguel Oliveira is 13th, with 23. In addition to qualifying, on Saturday the sprint race will be held.
