Miriam Adelson, owner of the Dallas Mavericks and president of the Las Vegas Sands casino company, is a major funder of the Preserve America PAC and one of the 10 richest women in the world, an action committee supporting Donald Trump’s candidacy for president of the United States. According to FEC (Federal Election Commission) documents released on Wednesday (October 30, 2024), Adelson donated $100 million to the PAC in the 3rd quarter of 2024. The information was released by the Fronto Office Sports portal.
The donations were made in July, August, and September. During this time frame, two US$25 million contributions stand out in the first two months, followed by two US$45 million contributions in September. Adelson also donated US$1 million to Georgia Governor Brian Kemp’s superPAC.
Adelson, who is Israeli and is considered the 8th-richest woman in the world, has a close relationship with Donald Trump. She met with him several times in 2023 and 2024 to discuss Israel policy and family matters. Dave Carney, a Republican strategist and leader of the Preserve America PAC, praised her contributions to the New York Times, calling her a โfundraising star.โ
According to Spotrac, Adelson’s contribution to the PAC amounts to over half of the Dallas Mavericks’ approximately $180 million payroll. With roughly $75 million, Adelson and her late husband Sheldon were the largest contributors to Trump’s 2020 reelection campaign.
Since acquiring a majority stake in the Mavericks, Delson has become a well-known figure in Texas. She has advocated for gambling legalization in the state and suggested a new casino resort in DFW.
According to Forbes, Adelson’s net worth is $34.4 billion. As a result, he is the 54th richest person in the world. She ranks among the top 10 richest women in the world.
