Real Madrid vs. Vinicius Junior!
Yes, it’s pretty much like that. In a recent incident, Vinicius took a ‘stance’ against his club Real Madrid. Real drew 2–2 against Valencia on March 2 in La Liga. Vinicius scored two goals for Real in the match. Real and Vinicius had to play another ‘match’ outside the field before the Valencia match that day. It is within themselves. In the end, the heated match ended with the intervention of Jose Angel Sanchez, the CEO of Real.
The incident started around a post by Real on social media. A photo of Vinicius was posted on Real’s Instagram account before the Valencia match. Vinicius is seen in the photo kissing the Madrid badge.
But at the bottom of the picture, a sticker of Israeli DJ duo ‘Vini VC’ is added. And the problem is with this sticker. The sticker depicts human evolution through graphic design. And it’s transformed from monkey to human to DJ—the graphics on the ‘Vinnie VC’ sticker show it.
The post was deleted after 30 minutes. But by then, Vinicius had seen it. The Brazilian forward got into an argument with Real executives. Sources told ESPN reporter Gustavo Hoffman that Vinicius demanded an explanation of the post from real authorities. He even threatened not to play in the match against Valencia. The Spanish media “Relevo” first published the news of the two sides’ argument.
After Vinicius got angry, Real Chief Executive Jose Angel Sanchez tried to calm him down. Vinny claimed that he was fighting against racism at the moment. And that’s when Real’s social media posts!
Jose Angel Sanchez, however, explained the post to Vinny, and sources said the Brazil star calmed down after that. According to Vini, Real will be more careful about posting on social media in the future, as well as taking appropriate action against those who made the post—ssomething Sanchez promised him.
