ChatGPT’s dominance
ChatGPT, created by OpenAI, continues to dominate the chatbot world with over 46.5 billion visits in 2025. According to Visual Capitalist, it represents 48.36% of the total AI chatbot market, which is four times the combined visits of the other chatbots on the list.

DeepSeek, Gemini, and Claude are moving forward
China’s DeepSeek emerged as the second most used chatbot with 2.74 billion visits, up 48,848% from last year. Gemini, developed by Google DeepMind, and Claude, developed by Anthropic, had 1.66 billion and 1.15 billion visits, respectively, showing strong growth rates. Still, neither is anywhere near ChatGPT.
Poe’s traffic has dropped sharply
Meanwhile, new and niche entrants like Grok and Perplexity are growing rapidly, but Poe, despite its initial popularity, has seen a sharp decline in traffic (-46%).
