The Austrian Ministry of Finance declared the establishment of a 500 million euro fund to support Austrian exports to Ukraine. Otherwise, the department’s press service notes, such investments would be unfeasible because of a unique risk.

The ministry reported that they plan to allocate funds within the next five years. This will also provide opportunities for Austrian exporters to rebuild Ukraine.

“Russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine leads to the worst human suffering and also brings enormous problems for Ukrainian economic life. In addition to the domestic economy, the Ukrainian population and economy in particular benefit from our export support, as we actively contribute to the country’s recovery.” Minister of Finance Magnus Brunner said.

It is also noted that attracting money from international financial institutions can increase the amount of aid to 1 billion euros. During the first round of funding, small and medium-sized deals will be available. After all, on the one hand, the amount of money is limited, and on the other hand, it is necessary to achieve a wide diversification of risks.

It will be recalled that earlier Austrian Chancellor Karl Neghammer said that his country does not support the initiative to buy weapons for Ukraine from the proceeds of confiscated property of the Russian Federation. According to him, this should indicate the restructuring of the fund.
