IBM Granite AI 3.0: On Monday, October 21, 2024, IBM (International Business Machines Corporation) unveiled the new “Granite 3.0” artificial intelligence models. Their goal is to increase the company’s market share in the generative AI space for commercial uses. In addition, they are open source, allowing companies to adopt and adapt solutions without costs, unlike competing models.
Additionally, Watsonx, a for-profit tool that facilitates model deployment in data centers, was unveiled by the company.IBM will also incorporate these models with Nvidia’s software toolset, thereby broadening the application of the company’s artificial intelligence solutions. This service represents a new source of revenue for the company and promotes collaboration in the open source community.
Starting this Monday (Oct. 21), variants of the Granite models are available on the Watsonx platform for enterprise use. In addition, IBM will integrate these models (Granite 3.0) with Nvidia’s suite of software tools, which will expand the reach of the company’s AI solutions.
Speaking about the partnership with Nvidia in creating the Granite models was IBM Research Director Dario Gil. He claimed that Nvidia’s H100 GPUs’ capabilities greatly aided in the training of these models. With the combination of Nvidia’s cutting-edge hardware and IBM’s creative software, this partnership promises substantial advancements in the use of AI in corporate settings.
With the use of AI and machine learning, stock analysis, especially for technology companies like Nvidia, is becoming more accessible. These tools offer performance predictions based on historical data, comparisons to benchmarks, and risk assessments.
