Donald Trump campaign

Trump attacked his rivals during his election campaign, which centered on topics like immigration and the economy. In his second term, Trump plans to enact more extensive tariffs and cut more taxes than his previous administration.

The Republican also wants to eliminate income taxes on tips, overtime, and Social Security benefits. In addition, the president-elect wants to increase tariffs on imports: 60% for Chinese products and up to 20% for goods from other countries.

During the September 10 ABC News debate against Kamala Harris, Trump’s remarks regarding immigrants in Springfield, Ohio, became well-known. At the time, Trump stated that foreigners were eating pets. Early in his campaign, when he was still running against Joe Biden, Trump attacked his opponent, usually because of his age.

Trump has also suffered two assassination attempts during his 2024 presidential campaign. The first was on July 13, during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. A bullet grazed the candidate’s right ear at the time. He was rushed off the stage. The suspect, identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, was killed by police. Another person who was at the rally also died.

Two days after the incident, the Republican showed up at the Republican National Convention with a bandage over his gunshot wound. The item was worn by his supporters as a show of support for the candidate.

Trump was at his Palm Beach, Florida, golf club on September 15 when he was the target of another assassination attempt. A man, Ryan Wesley Routh, 58, opened fire and was taken into custody while attempting to escape, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Since making his support for Trump official, Musk has made a series of posts on his social network in favor of the Republican. The businessman has more than 200 million followers on X.
