We have a man of steel! James Gunn released the first official image of David Corenswet as the new DC Superman in the movie this Monday (6). ย In the image, which apparently has no CGI, we can see that the character will be wearing red underwear over his pants, just like in the comics. Man of Steel will show Superman at the beginning of his heroic career, trying to establish himself in a world that already has superheroes.
The new film will star Corenswet (Pearl), Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) as Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult (The Great) as Lex Luthor, and Skyler Gisondo (Licorice Pizza) as Jimmy Olsen, among others.
Set for release on July 11, 2025, Superman is the first film in the new DCU.
