Cape Verde goalkeeper Vozinha, who won hearts around the world with his outstanding performances at the 2016 World Cup, has signed with Chilean club Colo Colo.
Cape Verde star Vozinha gained worldwide fame after making a string of incredible saves against top teams like Spain and Argentina at the World Cup.
“Welcome. We’re waiting for you,” the South American country’s largest soccer club wrote in a post on its social media page on Friday.
Vozinha, 40, was unsigned during the World Cup. He had around 46,000 followers on Instagram before the FIFA World Cup, but that number had grown to around 29 million by the end of the tournament.
Vozinha played a key role in Cabo Verde’s draw against Spain in the group stage of the World Cup. Since then, he has become a global sensation, and his Instagram following has skyrocketed.

Vozinha made a series of crucial saves against Argentina in the round of 32, but his team lost 3-2. His crucial contribution brought the small African island nation to the media spotlight.
The country of around 500,000 people made history by reaching the knockout stages of its first World Cup. The team remained unbeaten in the group stage, drawing with bigger opponents Spain, Uruguay, and Saudi Arabia.
